Generally this is best done with Firewire and target mode, but you can do this with Networking as well. On setting up the MacBook you will get an option to transfer files across. You could still do this over the network.
However if you have a new Aluminium MacBook that option is out. The easiest way I found, was to copy /Users/Username from one computer to the other using Target Mode while running as administrator having created the Username Account. and (if possible) maybe I can also get some apps with their settings to my MacBook? (Like Cyberduck, Teemspeex with Serverlist.
As I want to get it quickly up and running, is there quick way to copy my settings from my iMac to my new Macbook? (Both Leopard). In a few hours I will get my new MacBook.
